71-81 Submit to Voters - Amend Charter - Art III Sect 7

Section 3. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to: forward a certified copy of this ordinance to the Board of Electlons of Cuyahoga County; cause notice of the foregoing proposed Charter amendment to be given pursuant to Section 107.10 of the Admznlstratlve Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, Ohio and Section 731.211 of the Revised Code of Ohio; and give public notice of the time and place of holding such election by publication of notice thereof at least ten (10) days prior to the day of such election in a newspaper published and of general circulation in the City. Section 4. That the Director of Law is hereby authorized and directed to prepare and submit to the Board of Electzons of Cuyahoga County, Ohzo, wording for the ballot submittzng the question of the foregoing proposed amendment upon request from the Board of Elections that the City furnish additzonal or alternatzve wording to that set forth in Sec%zon 2 of this ordinance. $ectzon 5. It is found and determined that ail formal actions of th~s Council concerning and relating to the passage of thms ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions, were in meetings open to the public, in compli- ance with all legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. Section 6, That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated and defined in the preamble hereof and, providing it receives the affirmatzve vote of two-thirds of all members elected to Council, ~t shall take effect and be in force ~mmediately upon zts adoption and approval by the Mayor.
