76-81 Submit to voters Article XI Sect 9 - enactments

Said ballot shall provide appropriate means for the voter to indicate his affirmative or negative vote on the question. Section 3. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and directed to: forward a certified copy of this ordinance to the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County; cause notice of the foregozhg proposed Charter amendment to be given pursuant to Section 107.10 of the Admini- strative Code of the Codified Ozdinances of the City of Lakewood, Ohio and Section 731.211 of the Revised Code of Ohio; and give public notice of the time and place of holding such election by publication of notice thereof at least ten (10) days prior to the day of such election in a newspaper published and of general circulation in the City. Section 4. That the Director of Law is hereby authorized and directed to prepare and submit to the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County, Ohio, wording for the ballot submitting the question of the foregoing proposed amendment upon request from the Board of Elections that the City furnish additional or alternative wording to that set forth in Section 2 of this ordinance. Section 5. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal actions, were in meetings open to the public, in compli- ance with all legal requirements, including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. Section 6. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons staned and defined in the preamble hereof and, providing it recelves the affirmative vote of two-thirds of ail members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be zn force immediately upon ,ts adoption and approval by the Mayor.
