"PROPOSED <br />CHARTER AMENDMENT <br />CITY OF LAKEWOOD, 0HIO <br /> <br />Shall the proposed enactment of new Article XXI, S%ction 10 of <br />the Amended Charter of the City of Lakewood, Ohio: <br /> <br />ARTICLE XXI. GENERAL PROVISIONS. <br /> <br />SECTION 10. CHARTER REVIEW COMMISSION <br /> <br /> In January of 1985 and of each tenth year thereafter, <br />nine electors of the City shall be appointed as members of a <br />Charter Review Commission pursuant to this section. Five of <br />the members of the Commission shall be appomnted by a vote of <br />at least a ma3ority of the members of the Council, and four <br />members of the Commmsslon shall be appointed by the Mayor. <br />Members of the Commission shall not hold any other office or <br />positzon of employment with the City. The Commission shall <br />review the Charter and within six months after the appointment <br />of mrs members, may recommend to the Council by a two-thirds <br />vote of the members of the Commission, revisions and amendments <br />to this charzer The Council may submit any proposed amend- <br />ments recommended by the Commission to a vote of the pecple in <br />the manner provided under this Charter and the Constitution of <br />Ohio. Such amendments shall be in the form as provided by the <br />Counczl. <br /> <br />be adopted?" <br /> <br /> Said ballot shall provide appropriate means for the voter to <br />indicate his affirmatzve or negative vote on the question. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That the Clerk of Council is hereby authorized and <br />directed to: forward a certified copy of this ordinance to the Board of <br />Elections of Cuyahoga County; cause no,ice of the foregoing proposed <br />Charter amendment to be given pursuant to Section 107.10 of the Admini- <br />strative Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, Ohio <br />and Section 731.211 of the Revlsed Code of Ohio; and give public notice <br />of the time and place of holding such election by publication of notice <br />thereof at least ten (10) days prior to the day of such election in a <br />newspaper published and of general circulatzon in the City. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That the Director of Law is hereby authorized and <br />directed to prepare and submit to the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga <br />County, Ohio, wording for the ballot submitting the question of the <br />foregoing proposed amendment upon request from the Board of Elections <br />that the City furnish additional or alternative wording to that set <br />forth in Section 2 of this ordinance~ <br /> <br /> Section 5. It is found and determined that all formal actions <br />of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance <br />were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such <br /> <br />-2- <br /> <br /> <br />
