<br /> {4 In the opinion of the Grantee, such person has <br /> previously made reasonable efforts to secure financial <br /> assistance from other sources and has been denied <br /> assistance or that the assistance cannot be received <br /> in time to prevent a heating utility service shut-off or to <br /> restore such service on a prompt basis. <br />(B) The Eligible Person shall submit proof, satisfactory to the Grantee <br />of the following matters to the Grantee in order to permit the Grantee to <br />determine such person's eligibility for a loan under this Grant Contract. <br /> (1) The family relationship of members Jf the household. <br /> (2) The income for 1982 of the members of the household <br /> and all other requirements under Section l(A) (3) of this <br /> Grant Agreement. <br /> (3) Occupancy of the premises for which the heating <br /> utility service charges were incurred. <br /> (4) The amount of the heating utility service charges <br /> remaining unpaid and for which the loan is sought. <br />Section 2. Non-Interest Bearing Loans. <br />(A) Upon application of an Eligible Person, the Grantee may make a <br />non-interest bearing loan to the Eligible Person in an amount, which amount <br />Shall not exceed $250, necessary to pay all or a part of the heating utility <br />service charge which is necessary to prevent the shut-off of or to restore <br />heating utility service to premises occupied as a residence by the Eligible <br />Person or the Eligible Person and related persons. <br />(B) The Eligible Person shall execute a non-interest bearing note <br />payable in favor of the Grantee over a period not to exceed six months, <br />agreeing to repay Grantee the amount of the loan. If the Eligible Person <br />is a minor or under some other disability as to his or her legal capacity, <br />the Grantee may accept a non-interest bearing note signed by some other person <br />who is of full age and not under a disability as to legal capacity, in lieu <br />of the note from the Eligible Person. <br />(C) Loans made pursuant to this Grant Contract sha 11 be made subject <br />to the following conditions: <br />(1) Only one loan may be made to any Eligible Person or <br />person who resides with such Eligible Persons. <br />(2) Loans sha 11 be 1 imited to amounts not to exceed $250 <br />(3) The Grantee shall pay the amount of the loan <br />directly to the heating utility service provider <br />on behalf of the Eligible Person. <br />(4) Loans will be made in the order in which the <br />Grantee approves applications made by Eligible Persons <br /> -2- <br /> <br />. <br />
