ORDINANCE NO. 57-83 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, McBride, Salmon, <br /> Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor to enter into a Sublease <br />Agreement with the Community Development Corporation of Lakewood, Ohio for pro- <br />perty located at the northwest corner of Ridgewood and Madison Avenues, and at <br />12414-16 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, to provide satelite office space for <br />the Office On Aging and off-street parking for a period in excess of 20 years, <br />said rental payments to commence January l, 1984 and end December 31, 2003. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the present satelite office for the Office On Aging is inade- <br />quate to meet the needs of the Office On Aging, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, through the Community Development Corporation of Lakewood, <br />Ohio, office space is available for leasing in the Fedor Manor which space <br />would provide for a much larger satelite office and enable the Office On Aging <br />to initiate more programs, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the new proposed location is more conveniently located and <br />would be more accessible to a greater number of people to utilize the services <br />of the Office On Aging, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, it is also in the best interest of the City to sublease the <br />property at 12414-16 Madison Avenue to provide much needed off-street parking <br />for customers of the business located in the immediate vicinity, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing <br />for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and <br />directed to enter into a Sublease Agreement with the Community Development <br />Corporation of Lakewood, Ohio, for property located at the northwest corner of <br />Ridgewood and Madison Avenues, and at 12414-16 Madison Avenue, LakewoOd, Ohio, <br />to provide office space for the Office On Aging and off-street parking for a <br />period in excess of 20 years, said Sublease to be substantially as set forth in <br />Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully rewritten <br />herein. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in <br />an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council <br />and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in <br />meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including <br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; <br />otherwise it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed <br />by law. <br /> <br /> <br />
