For each tenement house, there shall be at least one such <br />receptacle for each floor, and at least one such receptacle <br />for every three families occupying such tenement house.. <br /> <br />Each and every hotel, restaurant, cafe, lunch room, grocery, <br />store, market, workshop or factory shall be provided with <br />one or more of such receptacles. No garbage shall be <br />placed or permitted to remain elsewhere than in such recep- <br />tacles. <br /> <br />shall be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />1783.05 RECEPTACLES FOR GARBAGE. <br /> <br />(al The owner, agent, lessee or occupant of any dwelling unit <br />where refuse is produced or permitted to accumulate shall pro- <br />vide an adequte number of containers for such refuse. Each <br />container shall be rat-proof, insect-proof, watertight, <br />structurally strong to withstand handling stress, and easily <br />filled, emptied and cleaned. Each container shall be provided <br />with tight fitting covers and shall be maintained at all times <br />clean and in sanitary and safe condition. Said container shall <br />have a capacity of not less than twenty nor more than <br />thirty-two gallons and shall be provided with suitable hand- <br />les. <br /> <br />(b) For each tenement house, there shall be at least one <br />such receptacle for each floor, and at least one such <br />receptacle for every three families occupying such tenement <br />house. <br /> <br /> (c) Each and every hotel, restaurant, cafe, lunch room, <br /> grocery, store, market, workshop or factory shall be provid- <br /> ed with one or more of such receptacles. No garbage shall <br /> be placed or permitted to remain elsewhere than in such <br /> receptacles <br /> <br /> Section 3. That new Section 1783.22 of the Sanitary Code of the Codi- <br />fied Ordinances of the City of Lakewood is hereby enacted to read as follows: <br /> <br />1783.22 DUTIES OF OWNERS. <br /> <br />(al The owner or person in control of property not <br />eligible, for City collection of garbage, shall keep the <br />premises clean and free of litter and shall take measures to <br />prevent litter from drifting or blowing to adjoining pre- <br />mises. <br />(b) It shall be the duty of the owner of bulk containers or <br />person in control of premises on which is located bulk con- <br />tainers or detachable units for the collection of rubbish, <br />to: <br /> <br />(1) <br /> <br />(2) <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br /> Keep said bulk container or detachable u~it placed <br /> behind the building line. <br />Keep said bulk container 'or detachable unit in <br />good repair, Clean and painted. <br /> Keep said bulk container or detachable unit with <br /> lid closed at all times. <br />Keep said bulk container or detachable unit <br />identified as a receptacle for garbage, such identi- <br />fication to be affixed to said bulk container or <br />detachable unit. <br /> <br /> <br />
