Taxicabs employed on the hourly basis shall operate within <br />the City upon the following schedule of rates; not less <br />than four dollars and fifty cents ($4.50) per hour or <br />fraction thereof for the first hour, nor more than eight <br />dollars ($8.00) per hour, provided that charges for use in <br />excess of one hour shall be on the basis of one-sixth of an <br />hour fractions of the rate charged for the first full hour. <br /> <br />shall be and the same are hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />769.08 RATES OF FARE. <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />Metered Rates. <br />(l) For the first one sixth mile or fraction thereof <br />eighty-five (85¢) cents. <br />(2) For each succeeding two-elevenths of a mile or <br />fraction thereof, twenty cents (20¢). <br />(3) For each additional passenger for the entire <br />trip, twenty-five cents (25¢). <br />(4) For each one and one-half (1½) minutes of waiting <br />time, twenty-five cents (25¢). <br />(5) In addition to the above rates five cents (5¢) <br />may be added for the first one sixth mile of fraction <br />thereof for each five cents (5¢) increase in the cost <br />of fuel, above forty cents (40¢) cents per gallon. <br />(6) If taxicab is propane fueled, the rate will be <br />one dollar and thirty-five ($1.35) the first one sixth <br />of a mile. Each succeeding two elevenths mile (2/11) <br />will be twenty cents (20¢) and the hourly rate will be <br />ten dollars ($10.00) per hour. <br /> <br />Waiting time is deemed to include the time when the taxicab <br />is not in motion, beginning at the place of arrival to <br />which it has been called, or the time consumed while stan- <br />ding at the direction of the passenger. No charge shall be <br />made for time lost because of the inefficiency of the <br />taxicab or its operator, or for the time consumed by <br />premature response to the passenger's order. <br /> <br />(b) Hourly and Flat Rate. Taxicabs may accept employment <br />whereby the fare is to be computed on an hourly rental <br />basis or upon a flat rate of two dollars and five cents <br />($2.05) for any ride in the City. A charge of twenty-five <br />cents (25¢) may be made for each additional passenger. <br /> <br />Five cents (5¢) may be added to the flat rate of two <br />dollars and five cents ($2.05) for any ride within the <br />City, for each five cent (5¢) increase in the cost of <br />gasoline for taxicabs, above forty cents (40¢) per gallon. <br /> <br />Taxicabs employed on the hourly basis shall operate within <br />the City upon the following schedule of rates; not less <br />than four dollars and fifty cents ($4.50) per hour or <br />fraction thereof for the first hour, nor more than eight <br />dollars ($8.00) per hour, provided that charges for use in <br />excess of one hour shall be on the basis of one-sixth of an <br />hour fractions of the rate charged for the first full hour. <br /> <br /> <br />
