ORDINANCE NO. 58-84 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Gallagher, Graham, <br /> McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Mayor for and on behalf of the <br />City of Lakewood to enter into a Lease Agreement with Sandra L. Athanas for the <br />premises at 13614-16 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, for the purpose of relocat- <br />ing the City's Youth Services Office. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the premises located at 13614-16 Madison Avenue, Lakewood, <br />O~lO, has recent)y changed hands and the ground floor storeroom of said premises <br />is available for leasing, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the owner of the above mentioned premises, Sandra L. Athanas, <br />has indicated a willingness and desire to lease said premises to the City, and <br /> WHEREAS, the present facility of the City's Youth Services Office are <br />inadequate and a move of that office to the Madison Avenue location woul~.in- <br />crease its existing office space and permit the Youth Services Office to better <br />serve the youth of the City, and <br /> <br /> ,n~, this Council determines that it is in the best interest of <br />the City to relocate the City's Youth Services Office to the Madison Avenue lo- <br />cation effective September 1, 1984, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure providing for <br /> the immediate preservation of the public safety and welfare and for the usual <br /> daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor for and on behalf of the City is hereby <br />authorized and directed to enter into a five year term Lease Agreement with <br />Sandra L. Athar~as, 1253 Hathaway Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio, for the entire ground <br />floor of the two-story brick building located at 13614-16 Madison Avenue, Lake- <br />wood, Ohio, for the purpose of relocating the City's Youth Services Office effec- <br />tive September 1, 1984, said lease to be substantially in the form of the Lease <br />Agreement attached hereto as "Exhibit A" and made a part hereof as if fully re- <br />written herein provided that the ninety day clause shall be unrestricted. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this <br />Council concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted <br />in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Coun- <br />cil and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in <br />meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including <br />Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br /> Secticn 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and provided it receives <br />the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take ef- <br />fect and be in force immediately upon its adoption and approval by the Mayor; <br />otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allow- <br /> <br />ed by law. <br /> <br />VICE PRESIDENT <br /> <br />Approve~~ ~/ <br /> <br /> <br />
