thereof painted on or attached directly or indirectly <br />to a structure. <br /> <br />(b) Classification by Fuctional Type. <br /> <br />(1) "Billboard" means a sign which is <br />primarily intended to direct attention to a <br />specific business, product, service <br />entertainment or any other activity sold, <br />offered or conducted elsewhere than upon the <br />same lot or premises on which the sign is <br />located and which may, subject to the <br />provisions of this Code, contain non- <br />commercial messages. <br /> <br />(2) "Bulletin board" means a sign which is <br />primarily intended to announce or direct <br />attention to and is located on the lot or <br />premises of a public or semi-public <br />institution and which may, subject to the <br />provisions of this Code, contain non- <br />commercial messages. <br /> <br />(3) "Business sign" means a sign which is <br />primarily intended to advertise the name of <br />the business or establishment, the goods or <br />commodities sold and/or brand names thereof, <br />or services rendered on the lot or premises <br />which the sign is located and which may, <br />subject to the provisions of this Code, <br />contain non-commercial messages. The terms <br />"advertising" and "brand names" distinguish <br />business signs from identification signs. <br /> <br />(4) . . . <br /> <br />(5) . . . <br /> <br />(6) "Identification sign" means a sign which <br />is primarily intended to indicate the name, <br />owner, manager and/or address of an existing <br />building or business and which may, subject <br />to the provisions of this Code, contain non- <br />commercial messages. <br /> <br />(7) "Informational sign" means a sign which <br />is primarily intended to give general <br />information to the public concerning the <br />location of places for lodging or eating, <br />vehicle service, time, weather, historic <br />sites, areas of natural scenic beauty or <br />outdoor recreation facilities and similar <br />information and which may, subject to the <br />provisions of this Code, contain non- <br /> <br /> <br />
