A - UTILITY REDUCTION EFFORTS TO DATE
The City of Lakewood has undertaken projects in
the past to reduce energy consumption through
installation of energy efficient sport lighting, the
installation of weather strip and storm windows and
insulation. There has been an effort to organize a
systematic audit of the energy conservation needs of
the City in the past but with no long-lasting results.
With the help of the Ohio Department of Development
through the Energy Manager Program, the City will now
be able to set up a continuing energy management system.

B - SHARED SAVINGS FUND

The City of Lakewood charges a number of accounts
in the general fund for the use of utilities. Part
of the job of the Energy Manager will be to
systematically determine what energy usage is charged
to which account and set up a record system that can
be monitored to allow money from energy savings in
the future to be credited to these accounts.

C - MEM TEAM

The City of Lakewood will set up an Energy
Management Team. The ultimate supervision of the team
will be done by the City Engineer, Mr. Hugh M. Gallagher.
The Energy Manager will be Ass't City Engineer, Mr.
Thomas J. Ciha. He will be assisted by a staff of
an energy field consultant, Mr. Bill Corrigan and
Draftsman Sean Boland.

Also to be used will be individual contracts with
consulting engineering companies to research HVAC
improvements in City buildings.
