(d) <br /> <br />(d) they shall be firmly anchored to <br />prevent flotation; and <br />(e) service facilities such as <br />electrical and heating equipment shall be <br />elevated or floodproofed. <br /> <br />Manufactured Homes. <br /> <br />The following standards shall apply to all new and <br />substantially improved manufactured homes not <br />subject to the manufactured home requirements of <br />Section 3733.01, Ohio Revised Code. <br /> <br />(1) Manufactured homes shall be anchored in <br />accordance with Section 1307.18(a) (2). <br />(2) Manufactured homes shall be elevated on <br />a permanent foundation such that the lowest <br />floor of the manufactured home is at or <br />above the base flood elevation. <br /> <br />(e) Enclosures Below Base Flood Elevaton. <br /> <br />The following provisions apply to all new and <br />substantially improved residential and <br />nonresidential structures which are elevated to or <br />above base flood elevation using pilings, columns, <br />or posts or which contain a crawl space. These <br />structures may enclose the area below the base <br />flood elevation provided the following conditions <br />are met: <br /> <br /> (1) Fully enclosed areas below the base <br />flood elevation shall be designed to <br />automatically equalize hydrostatic flood <br />forces on exterior walls by allow for the <br />entry and exit of floodwaters. Designs for <br />meeting this requirement.must: <br /> <br />(2) <br />criteria shall be considered as having <br />the requirements of Section 1307.18(a). <br /> <br />(a) be certified by a registered <br />professional engineer or architect; or <br />(b) must meet or exceed the following <br />criteria: <br />(i) a minimum of two openings <br />having a total net area of not less <br />than one square inch for every <br />square foot of enclosed area shall <br />be provided; <br /> (ii) the bottom of all openings <br /> shall be no higher than one foot <br /> above grade; and <br /> (iii) openings may be equipped with <br /> screens, louvers, or other <br /> coverings or devices provided that <br /> they permit the automatic entry and <br /> exit of floodwaters. <br /> Any enclosures which meets these <br /> <br /> met <br /> <br />1307.20 FLOODWAYS. <br /> <br />The Flood Insurance Study referenced in Section <br />1307.07 identifies a segment within areas of <br />special flood hazard known as a floodway. The <br />floodway is an extremely hazardous area due to the <br />velocity of flood waters which carry debris, <br />potential projectiles, and erosion potential.
