Placed on Second Reading on July 1', <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 58-87 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gallagher, <br /> Graham, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE to amend paragraph (c) and enact new <br />paragraph (e) of Section 351.99 of the Traffic Code of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood to increase the fine for violations <br />of handicapped parking regulations. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this Council determines that the violation of <br />handicapped parking regulations is of such nature that the fine for <br />same should be increased from its present 85.00 minimum $10.00 maximum <br />waiver limits to further discourage the prevalent violation of such <br />regulations by so many motorist, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public safety and <br />welfare and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; <br />now, therefore, <br /> <br />OF OHIO: <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE <br /> <br /> Section 1. That paragraph (c) of Section 315.99 of the <br />Traffic Code of the Codified Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, now <br />reading as follows: <br /> <br />351.99 PENALTY AND WAIVER <br /> <br />(a) <br />(b) <br />(c) <br /> <br />Whoever violates Sections 351.01(a) through <br />(p), (r) or (s) through 351.18, Section <br />351.20(d) or (c) or Section 351.23 may, in <br />lieu of the other penalties provided for the <br />violation of such provisions and upon signing <br />a waiver, be fined five dollars ($5.00) if <br />such violator pays such fine at the Traffic <br />Bureau, in person or by mail, within forty- <br />eight hours, or if not within forty-eight <br />hours, then in the sum of ten dollars <br />($10.00) if such violator pays such amount at <br />the Traffic Bureau, in person or by mail, <br />within seventy-two hours from the time of <br />violation.
