ORDINANCE NO: 65-87 <br /> <br />BY: Brown, Chinnock, Gal lagher, <br /> Graham, McBride, Salmon, Wendling <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE authorizing the Civil Service Commission <br />to enter into an agreement with Police Consultants, Inc. to review the <br />exam process and compile, administer and score the written examination for <br />the position of Police Officer <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission is authorized under City <br />Charter and State Code to secure outside professional services when <br />necessary to prepare, conduct and grade exams for classified employees, <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Civil Service Commission has reviewed the proposal <br />of Police Consultants, Inc. and finds said company to be qualified and <br />capable of providing the necessary services, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Police Department is now in need of additional <br />Officers, and Police Officer exams should be given at the earliest <br />possible time, and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, this ordinance constitutes an emergency measure <br />providing for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and <br />welfare; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF <br /> <br />OHIO: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Civil Service Commission be and it is <br />hereby authorized and directed, for on behalf of the City of Lakewood to <br />enter into an agreement with Police Consultants, Inc., 825 N. Cass Avenue, <br />Westmont, Illinois to review the exam process, and compile, administer and <br />score the written examination for the position of Police Officer for the <br />City of Lakewood, said agreement to be substantially in the form as set <br />forth in the company's proposal attached hereto as exhibit "A". <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the cost of said services hereby authorized is <br />not to exceed $20,000 and shall be paid from the General Fund. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That it is found and determined that all formal <br />actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this <br />ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all <br />such deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted <br />in such formal action, were in meetings open to the public, in compliance <br />with all legal requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 4. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure for the reasons stated in the preamble hereof and <br />provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members <br />elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon <br />its adoption and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shafl~~ct <br />and be in force after the earliest period <br /> <br />Adopted: <br /> <br />Approved:~~ o~/y / ~c~7 <br /> <br /> <br />
