BELLE AVE PARKING GARAGE <br />SAI ~89059 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />GROUND L~VEL I <br /> <br />Slab on grade appeared to be generally in good condition although <br />roofing tar had been applied over some slab joints and other <br />joints had lose or missing caulking. <br /> <br />STAIRWELLS <br /> <br />Ail stairwells showed cracking in exterior brick at similar loca- <br />tions (see photo ~7). Cracks typically run vertical and appear <br />to be due to differential settlement of the stairwell mat to the <br />adjacent caissons. This cracking appear to have occurred soon <br />after construction was completed and remains active (see photo <br /> ' <br /> <br />EXTERIOR PRECAST AND BRIC~ <br /> <br />Some small spal!s occur at top of precast parapet due to embedded <br />steel in close proximity to surface~ Some small spells were <br />noted at top of short screen wall columns on east side at first <br />level. <br /> <br />CONDITION APPRAISAL CONCLUSIONS <br /> <br />The garage is in relatively good condition considering its age <br />(15 years) and has performed well without any major rehabilita- <br />tion up to this point. Since the structure has begun to show <br />signs of deterioration the expected performance over the next 15 <br />years will not be as trouble free% To insure continued service <br />life some repairs will be required. While repairs to the parking <br />structure will not return the structure to an as-built condition <br />it will add to it present expected service life. <br /> <br />A-8 <br /> <br /> <br />
