shall be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />111.01 DEPARTMENTAL PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT CONTRACTS. <br />(a) Contracts for public improvements and work and repairs <br />with respect to public improvements shall be awarded by the <br />Director of Public Works upon approval by Council. Adoption <br />of an ordinance or resolution authorizing the preparation of <br />plans or specifications, an ordinance or resolution author- <br />izing the advertising of request for bids (where bidding <br />shall be required) or any other ordinance or resolution <br />which authorizes or approves the award of contracts, and <br />specifies the limit to be spent, shall constitute the appro- <br />val of Council required by Section 3 of Article V of the <br />Charter and this section, except that any contract for an <br />amount which exceeds the amount specified for a line item <br />detailed in the ordinance or resolution shall not be valid <br />or enforceable unless first specifically authorized by <br />separate resolution of Council. <br /> <br />(b) . . . <br /> <br /> Section 2. That section 111.02 of the Administrative Code, <br />now reading as follows: <br /> <br />111.02 OTHER DEPARTMENTAL CONTRACTS. <br />(a) Ail contracts or purchases, other than contracts for <br />public improvements described in Section 111.01, shall be <br />awarded by the Mayor, the Direcl:i:or of Law, the Director of <br />Finance, the Director Public Works or the Procurement Offic- <br />er. Contracts or purchases in excess of seven thousand five <br />hundred dollars ($7,500) shall in addition, require the <br />approval of the Board of Control established in subsection <br />(b) hereof. Council hereby grants.its approval of contracts <br />not in excess of seven thousand five hundred dollars <br />($7,500). <br /> <br />(b) . . . <br /> <br />shall be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> 111.02 OTHER DEPARTMENTAL CONTRACTS. <br />(a) All contracts or purchases~ other than contracts for <br />public improvements described in Section 111.01, shall be <br />awarded by the Mayor, the Director of Law, the Director of <br />Finance, the Director Public'Works or the Procurement Offic- <br />er, upon approval by Council. Council hereby grants its approval of contracts <br />for professional services not in excess of five thousand <br />dollars ($5,000) and all other contracts not in excess of <br />seven thousand five hundred dollars ($7,500). <br /> <br />(b) . . · <br /> <br /> <br />
