J5. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br /> <br />66-95 <br /> <br />BY: <br /> <br />Boscia, George, Gibbons, <br />Roth, Seelie, Smith <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE authorizing and directing the Mayor, on behalf <br />of the City, to, from time to time, enter into various vehicle <br />lease agreements with the Lakewood Commission on Aging. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the lakewood Commission on Aging (Commission) is a <br />vol unteer, not-for-prof; t corpor.at; on devoted to prav; di ng <br />services to the elderly and disabled residents of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Commission receives federal, state, and local <br />funds to purchase properly equipped vehicles in order to provide <br />transportation services to the elderly and disabled residents of <br />the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the provision <br />directly benefits the elderly <br />and <br /> <br />of such transportation services <br />and disabled residents of the City; <br /> <br />WHËREAS, in order to ensure the continuation of <br />services. the City desi res, from time to time. . to enter <br />vehicle lease agreements with the Cbmmission whereby the <br />assumes the costs of in&uring and maintaining said vehicles; <br /> <br />such <br />into <br />City <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. insurance and maintenance of said vehicles is more <br />efficient when said vehicles are included in the City!s vehicle <br />fleet; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, such costs of insurance and maintenance is a proper <br />expenditure of public funds; now. therefore. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Mayor. on behalf of the CitYJ is <br />hereby authorized and directed to. from time to timeJ enter into <br />various vehicle lease agreements with the lakewood Commission on <br />Agi ng for properl y equipPèd vehi cl es to provi de transportati on <br />services to the elderly and disabled residents of the City; said <br />lease agreement to be substantially similar in form to attached <br />Exhi bi t A and to be in a form and to contai n such terms and <br />conditions as deemed necessary by the Director of Law to protect <br />the public interest. <br /> <br />Section 2.
