hundred (500) feet of thc boundary of t, parcel of real estate upon which a <br />scht~ol, church, day care center, public park, government building, t,r another <br />weapons dealer is located. <br /> <br />(c) No dealer's license shall be issued to any applicant whose dealer's license has been <br /> revoked, nor to any applicant who has been convicted of a violation of any <br /> provision of this chapter, until the expiration of five years from the effective date <br /> of such revocation or five years from the date of such conviction. The license <br /> issued l~ursuant to this section shall be prominently displayed by every dealer at <br /> their place of business. <br /> <br />(d) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree. <br /> <br />549.22 APPLICATION FOR WEAPONS LICENSE <br /> <br />(a) Every handgun and/or deadly weapon dealer in the City shall procure a dealer's <br /> license to engage in such business. Any dealer engaged in such business ar more <br /> than one location in the City shall procure a separate license for each location. <br /> Application for a dealer's license shall be made in writing ar the office of the Chief <br /> of Police and shall be accompanied by an application fee of one hundred dollars <br /> ($100.00), which shall be paid into the City treasury. <br /> <br />If it appears upon investigation that the applicant has complied with all federal, <br />state and City licensing requirements, the Chief of Police shall issue a dealer's <br />license to the applicant within not less than five days nor more than twenty days <br />from the date of application. A copy of each dealer's license shall be retained by <br />the Chief, together with a copy of the application, which documents shall be <br />maintained on permanent file by the Chief. <br /> <br />A dealer's license shall remain in effect for one year or until such time as ir is <br />revoked, surrendered or the dealer discontinues business as a dealer. Licenses <br />issued pursuant to the l~rovisions of this section are not transferable in any <br />manner. <br /> <br />(c) No person, firm or corporation shall engage in business as a de'der in the City <br /> without a dealer's license. Each day of continuing violation of chis section shall be <br /> deemed a separate offense. <br /> <br />(d) No dealer, or any agent or employee of a dealer shall fail to comply with this <br /> secxion or knowingly cause any false information to be entered on a record of <br /> purchase or sale of any handgun. No purchaser of any handgun shall give any <br /> false information for entry on such record of sale. <br /> <br />(e) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree. <br /> <br />549.23 BUSINESS AND SECURITY REGULATIONS <br /> <br />(a) <br /> <br />All firearm dealers and officers, employees or agents of the firearms dealers, shall <br />comply with all provisions of the Ohio Revised Code Chapter 2923 and shall not <br />sell, deliver, or otherwise transfer any firearm in violation of state or fcqeral law. <br /> <br />(b) All dealers of firearms shall protect such firearms from theft during business hours <br /> in the following manner: <br /> <br />(1~ All fire-arms shall be in locked cabinets, a secure rack, or a storage area so that <br /> access to firearms is controlled by thc dealer or an employee, tt~ thc exclusion <br /> of all others. <br />(2} Thc firearm dealer, a-ent, or employee shall be prc~ent when a prospective <br /> buyer or seller is handlin~ any firearm. <br /> <br /> <br />
