application for and during the period of such license. No license shall be issued hereunder unless <br />the application therefor shall be first approved as herein provided by the official charged with the <br />enforcement of this Sanitary Code. Every license granted under the provision of this chapter shall <br />be posted in a conspicuous place in the laundry for which such license was issued. <br /> <br />1737.04 REVOCATION <br /> <br /> If at any th'ne alter the granting of the license the licensee shall keep, maintain or operate <br />such laundry in such manner that the public health orthe health of the persons employed in such <br />laundry is endangered, it shall be the duty of the official charged with the enforcement of this <br />Sanitary Code to revoke such license. <br /> <br />1737.05 CLEANLINESS, VENTILATION AND PLUMB~XlG. <br /> <br /> Every place used as a laundry as aforesaid shall be kept in a reasonable clean and sanitary <br />condition as to its floors, side walls, ce'flings, woodwork, fixtures, tools, machinery and utensils. <br />All rooms used in connection with such laundry shall be provided with adequate ventilation by <br />means of windows, air-shales or other mechanical apparatus it'needed, so as at all times to insure <br />a free circulation of fresh air in such laundry. In any laundry maintained or operated under the <br />provisions of this chapter or licensed to do so, it shall be arranged that all water upon the floor of <br />any washroom will immediately drain or run into drains or gutters, to be connected with the <br />sewers of the City. Every such laundry shall be provided with adequate plumbing and drainage <br />. facilities, including suitable wash-sinks and water closets. <br /> <br />1737.06 SEPARATION OF SOILED AND CLEAN WEARING APPAREL. <br /> <br /> In any laundry maintained or operated under the provision of this chapter, or licensed so <br />to do, it shall be arranged that no soiled linen shall come in contact with clean linen, and that no <br />clean or laundered wearing apparel shall be packed in containers in which soiled wearing apparel <br />has been received. <br /> <br />' 1737.07 SF_,i~ARATION OF LAUNDRY AND LIVING ROOMS. <br /> <br /> No apartments or rooms used for the purpose of washing, ironing, starching or drying <br />wearing apparel, table or bed linen, towels or other clothes in any laundry, shall be used by any <br />person for general living, cooking or sleeping purposes. Rooms used for general living, cooking <br />or sleeping purposes shall be separated from rooms used for laundry purposes by a brick, tile or <br />other solid wall or by a wall plastered on both sides, and such wall shall entirely separate the <br />moms used for general living purposes, except that there may be necessary openings for doors. <br /> <br />1737.08 INSPECTION <br /> <br /> Any sanitary or police officer shall have the right, at all times, to enter and inspect any <br />such laundry for the purpose of ascertaining if the conditions and requirements of this chapter are <br />being complied with, and if such inspection shall disclose any lack of conformity to this chapter, <br />the official charged with the enforcement of this Sanitary Code shall require such changes, <br />alterations and renovations as he may deem necessary for compliance with this chapter. <br /> <br />1737.09 DRAINAGE AND VENTILATION. <br /> <br /> In no public laundry shall there be allowed or permitted to be used as a work room, any <br />room, basement or cellar which is not well drained or any location which is not in such <br />communication with the outer air as to allow adequate ventilation. <br /> <br />1737.10 PUBLIC LAUNDRY AS A NUISANCE. <br /> <br /> Every public laundry which is not maintained and conducted as herein provided for is <br />hereby declared to be a public nuisance, and shall be abated in the same manner as any other <br />nuisance. <br /> <br /> <br />
