Board as members of the Governing Board. If the <br />Governing Board or the Member does not approve or <br />ratify the approval of a nominee, it shall request the <br />nominator of any nominee not approved or ratified to <br />nominate additional names for the position not filled. <br />The term of the members elected pursuant to this <br />paragraph shall be five years except that of the persons <br />initially selected pursuant to this paragraph, one <br />nominated by the Mayor shall serve until December 31, <br />1997 and the other until December 31, 2001 and one <br />nominated by the Council shall serve until December 31, <br />1998 and the other until December 31, 2000. Thereafter <br />the Council and the Executive shall deliver the names of <br />persons nominated pursuant to this paragraph to the <br />Lessee and the Member prior to November 1 in the year <br />in which the term of the incumbent appointed pursuant <br />to this paragraph will expire. In the event a member of <br />the Governing Board selected pursuant to this paragraph <br />ceases to be a member prior to the expiration of his <br />term, the vacancy in the Governing Board created <br />thereby shall be filled for the unexpired term in the same <br />manner as for the original appointment. <br /> <br />(3) <br /> <br />The Council shall nominate three members of the <br />Governing Board to be appointed as representatives of <br />Community Organizations. The term of members of the <br />Governing Board selected pursuant to this paragraph <br />shall be five years except that the terms of the initial <br />members shall expire on December 31, 1998, <br />December 31, 1999 and December 31, 2000. The terms <br />of the initial members shall be determined by lot. The <br />persons so nominated shall be considered first by the <br />Governing Board and if approved by the Governing <br />Board submitted for consideration of ratification by the <br />Member in its capacity as the member of the Lessee <br />which Member may, but need not, ratify the approval of <br />one or more of the nominees as members of the <br />Governing Board. If the Governing Board or the <br />Member does not approve or ratify the approval of a <br />nominee, it shall request the Council to nominate <br />additional persons for any position not filled. In the <br />event any person selected pursuant to this paragraph <br />should cease to be a member of the Governing Board <br />prior to the expiration of that person's term, such <br />vacancy shall be filled in the same manner as provided <br />herein for the original appointment. <br /> <br />(4) <br /> <br />The Member in its capacity as the member of the Lessee <br />shall elect three members of the Governing Body which <br />election shall be conclusive and not subject to any other <br />approval or designation. The term of members of the <br />Governing Board elected pursuant to this paragraph shall <br />be five years except that the terms of the initial members <br />shall expire on December 31, 1998, December 31, 2000 <br />and December 31, 200I.
