ORDINANCE NO. 14-O1A · Corrigam, FitzGerald, George~Y~eelie, Skindell, Smith. AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 14-01, adopted on March 19, 2001, for the purpose of adjusting contracting authority and to grant additional contracting, authority for the Director of Public Works to engage architectural and/or engineering firms to provide professional services in the design and preparation of specifications and contract administration and to advertise for bids and enter into contracts with the lowest and best bidder for Street Xmprovementm in accordance with the Administrative Code of the City of Lakewood. WHEREAS, the Street Improvement projects for Victoda Avenue, victoria Court, Bayes Avenue and PJverside Drive were combined into a single consb~uction contract; and WHEREAS, initially, the estimated cost of said improvements for Victoria Avenue and Bayes Avenue were over estimated while the estimated cost of said improvements for Victoria Court and Riverside Drive were underestimated; and WHEREAS, overall, the above stated construction projects as a whole are $86,000 under the total $465,000 that was budgeted for these improvements; and WHEREAS, Daleview Avenue is also in need of said improvements; and WHEREAS, this Council by a vote of at least frye (5) members elected thereto determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTONS 10 and 13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CTTY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public Property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that this project and contract adjustments must be approved so that remaining wOrk can be completed before winter. Now Therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO Section 1. That Ordinance No. 14-01, adopted March 19, 2001 currently reading as follows: Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized an direcbed to engage archrcectural and/or engineering firms to provided professional services in the design and preparation of speciflcaUons and contract administration and to advertise for bids and enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder in accordance with the Adrninistraflve Code of the City of Lakewood for the following Street Improvements, contracts not to exceed the specified amounts shown, except as hereinafter provided: enter into a contract as set for the above in the amount not to exceed the specified amount without further action from Council; and to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder in accordance with the.
