If an employee is passed over for overtime three (3) times in a rolling year, as determined by an <br />upheld grievance, the employee will be paid on an hour-for-hour basis for the overtime lost on the third or <br />subsequent instance. <br /> <br />15.13 When scheduled overtime becomes necessary, the employee shall be advised of the amount of <br />overtime to be worked. If an employee requests to leave the job site after, working the scheduled amount <br />of overtime, the employee's request shall be granted unless they are working under declared emergency <br />conditions. <br /> <br />15.14 Snow Salting and Snow Plowing Training Policy <br /> <br />A. The City shall implement a job training program city-wide for those employees who desire <br /> training for Snow plowing and salting operations. <br /> <br />Be <br /> <br />The training course for salting procedures will include a mandatory minimum of four (4) <br />hours classroom orientation, followed by a training program which will include eight (8) <br />hours of loader training and twenty (20) hours of driving knowledge, vehicle knowledge and <br />on-the-job training certification in a salt track. Employees who pass the salting certification <br />shall bo placed on the salt/plow overtime list unless otherwise waived for' any. following <br />reasons: <br /> Plowing <br /> <br />Employees'who are in need of training must attend a qualifying course provided by the <br />Division of Streets and Forestry. This course will include a minimum of four (4) hours <br />classroom orientation and to qualify for overtime, the employee must have at least four <br />(4) hours of on-the-job training. Employees who pass plowing certification.my be <br />placed on the salt/plow overtime list for the season in which they were trained. <br /> <br />Employees who fail to qualify for any training may reapply the next time training is <br />made available. Employees who desire this training must at least possess a valid Class B <br />Commercial Driver License. However, if any employee would apply, the City will make <br />arrangements for the employee to be able to apply for this license through the proper <br />channels. <br /> <br />ARTICLE 16 <br /> <br />GENERAL LEAVE/PERSONAL LEAVE <br /> <br />16.01 An employee who has completed their probationary period ma~t be.granted time off without pay <br />for a period not to exceed thirty (30) calendar days in duration. Said personal leave may be granted by the <br />Division Operations Manager, provided conmce and approval are obtained from the Director of <br />Public Works. It is agreed that request for personal leave will not be denied unreasonably. It is further <br />agreed that the employee requesting personal leave shall give the City a minimum of two (2) weekS <br />written notice except in cases of extreme emergencies. <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br /> <br />
