149.22 FUNERAL LEAVE, <br /> . (a) _ I..f.death o.ccu, rs .a.m.ong m.e.mbers of the e. mployee's family, such <br />employee sna~ De granmo paio runera~ ~ea.ve n' accoroance with the following schedule, <br />provided, the employee attends the funeral: <br /> <br /> (1) Spouse, son, daughter, stepchild, 10 calendar days <br /> mother, father, stepparent; <br /> <br /> (2) Brother, sister, grandparent, 5 calendar days <br /> grandparent-in-law, grandchild, <br /> mother-in-law, fatl~er-in-law, <br /> brother-in-law, sister-in-law, <br /> daughter-in-law, son-imlaw; <br /> <br /> (3) Aunt, uncle, niece, nephew; 1 calendar day <br /> <br /> (A) Upon approval, if an e,m_ployee on funeral leave for the <br /> death of the employees aunt, uncle, niece or nephew <br /> requests additional time off, additional days may be grant_ed_ <br /> and charged to sick leave or vacation at the employees <br /> option, up to a maximum of 3 days. <br /> <br /> ' (b!: If the death of the family member occurs outside of the continental United <br />States and the employee does not attend the funeral, one (1) day paid funeral leave <br />Will be granted. <br /> <br /> 149.23 LZFE ZNSURANCE. <br /> Effective .~uly 1, 2002, the City shall provide a policy of life insurance in the <br />amount of twenty-five thousand dollars. ($25, 000) for all full-time permanent hourlY <br />employees and all annual salaried employees not covered by a collective bargaining <br />agreement. <br /> <br /> Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council <br />concerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of <br />this Council, and that all such deliberation of the Council and of any of its committees that <br />resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal <br />requirements. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency <br />measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, <br />health, safety and welfare in the City and for the usual daily operation of the City for <br />the reasons set forth and defined in the preamble to this ordinance, and provided it <br />receives the affirmative vote of at least five (5) of its members elected to Council, this <br />ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its adoption by the Council <br />and approval by the Mayor otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force after the <br />earliest period allowed by law. <br /> <br />President <br /> <br />Approved: .,/~/~'~, ~'( ~J'P/ <br /> <br />Mayor / <br /> <br />21 <br /> <br /> <br />
