Roth, Seelie, Skindel1. <br /> <br />AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE amending Ordinance No. 59-01, adopted <br />December 17, 2001, to increase contracting authority for Lakewood Jail Medical <br />Services, Hospitalization and Health Care Benefit Services, Financial Accounting <br />Management Consulting, Tax Collection Service, Medical Claims Billing Service, <br />Sentenced Prisoners Full Jail Service, Property and Liability Insurance Contracts and <br />Financial Institution Service Charges; to add contracting authority for Fixed Asset <br />Valuation (GASB-34) and a Marketing Study for Winterhurst and authorizing the Mayor <br />(Director of Public Safety), the Director of Public Works, the Director of Law, the <br />Director of Finance, and/or the Procurement Officer to enter into contracts for <br />professional services, and to advertise for bids and enter into cùntracts for the purchase <br />or repair maintenance and operating supplies, services and equipment as authorized by <br />the 2002 Appropriation Ordinance and the administrative Code of the City of Lakewood <br />with the lowest and best bidder or bidders or as otherwise provided by law. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, additional contracting authority is required due to unforeseen cost <br />increases and unforeseen increases in the amount of service required; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the services arè being provided by vendors ùffering the lowest and <br />best price for the services indicated; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the additional contracting authority is required to allow for the <br />continuation of these services through the end of 2002; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council by a vùte of at least five (5) members elected thereto <br />determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure, and that this ordinance shall <br />take effect at the earliest date possible as set forth in ARTICLE III, SECTONS 10 and <br />13 of the SECOND AMENDED CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, and that it is <br />necessary to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that <br />these increases are necessary for the continuation of these services through the end of <br />this year. Now Therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHII:) <br /> <br />Section 1.
