Dever, <br />FitzGerald,Madigan, Seelíe. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE to amend Chapter 727, Farmers' Market, of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood for the purpose of expanding a Farmers' <br />Market within the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a Farmers' Market was permitted through legislation passed <br />over six years ago; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there have been requests from both residents, organizers and <br />growers who sell there products and produce in the City of Lakewood to expand <br />a Farmers' Market; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during each week of operation there is a large turnout for a <br />Farmers' Market and expansion of the program should allow it to become even <br />more successful. Now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That Chapter 727, Farmers' Market, of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood, currently reading as follows: <br /> <br />727.01 PRODUCERS. <br />"Producers", for purposes of this chapter, shall mean persons who raise <br />their own products upon land owned or leased by themselves. <br /> <br />727.02 ESTABLISHMENT. <br />A special event Farmers' Market shall be established for the sale of <br />seasonal produce and related products. Said Market shall be open only to <br />producers of their own farm produce, plants and products. <br /> <br />727.03 LOCATION. <br />The location of the Farmers' Market shall be subject to the approval of the <br />Director of Public Safety in accordance with the City Charter and all local, <br />state and federal laws. <br /> <br />727.Ò4 DURATION. <br />The Farmers' Market may be held weekly from July 1 through September <br />30 of each calendar year. <br /> <br />727.05 PERMITS. <br />All vendors wishing to participate in the Farmers' Market shall file an <br />application with Director of Human Services. All applications shall be <br />subject to approval by the Director of Human Services and shall be <br />submitted with the appropriate fee. Upon approval, the vendor will receive <br />a permit indicating the date(s) of sale, approved items to be sold, and the <br />location where the vendor is permitted to sell their products. The vendor <br />shall have the permit available for inspection, upon request of any City of <br />Lakewood Official, at all times the vendor is offering produce or products <br />for sale. <br /> <br />727.06 FEES. <br />Any vendor wishing to participate in the Farmers' Market shall submit a <br />nonrefundable fee in the amount of ten dollars ($10.00) per each day of <br />
