903.04 STONE FLAGGING SPECIFICATIONS Good sawed stone flagging is deemed acceptable material for sidewalks, but in no case shall it be less than two and one-half inches thick. No flagging shall be less than two and one-half feet wide laid lengthwise to the street, and any length breadthwise to the street shall be of the full width of the walk, unless such walk exceeds six feet in width. 903.05 CONCRETE SIDEWALK SPECIFICATIONS. Current material and construction specifications shall be determined and kept on file for public inspection by the Engineering Department under the authority of the Director of Public Works. 903.06 (Reserved.) 903.07 NONCONFORMING SIDEWALKS. The City may require sidewalks not laid in conformity with the requirements of this chapter to be re-laid or repaired in conformity with the provisions of this chapter. The materials conforming to the requirements of this chapter are concrete or stone flagging Materials such as asphalt or pavers are not permitted for the repair or replacement of sidewalks, 903.08 (Reserved.) 903.09 SIDEWALK PERMIT, (a) For the purpose of this section, "sidewalk" means that portion of a street between the curb lines, or the lateral lines of a roadway, and the adjacent property lines, intended for the use of pedestrians. (b) No person. shall break, deface, damage or destroy any sidewalks or curbing in or along the streets or public places of the City. (c) Before any person, other than a city contractor, officer or employee, shall make any opening or remove any sidewalk or curb in or along any of the streets, alleys, avenues or public grounds in the City, such person shall file with the Director of Public Works a written or printed application for a permit, setting forth and indicating thereon the location and extent of the opening in the sidewalk or curb desired to be opened up or removed, and the purpose and size of the opening to be made. Before any permit is granted, the applicant shall pay to the City a permit fee of twenty-five dollars ($25) per address, after which payment the Director of Public Works may issue a permit, and the applicant may proceed to do the work. The foregoing shall not apply to sidewalks taken up to lay connections by persons duly authorized and required to make house connections, and to re-lay and replace pavements under their contract. 903.10 DUTY TO REPAIR AND MAINTAIN SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAY APRONS. (a) For the purpose of this section, "sidewalk means that portion of a street between the curb lines, or the lateral lines of a roadway, and the adjacent property lines, intended for the use of pedestrians. (b) As used in this section, "driveway apron" means that area of the driveway from the curb to the sidewalk.
