furnish evidence of military service to qualify under this section, including certified <br />military records. <br />(c) Applicants otherwise eligible and qualified for original appointment shall <br />be extended an additional 1 (one) points if the applicant is a full-time employee or a <br />member of the Auxiliary Police, only if the applicants has been employed by the City of <br />Lakewood for the 12 (twelve) months preceding the examination. The additional 1 <br />(orie) point shall be added to the applicant's passing score <br />(d) Applicants otherwise eligible and qualified for original appointment shall <br />be extended an additional six (6) points if the applicant can satisfactorily furnish proof <br />of residency within the City of Lakewood for the twelve (12) months preceding the <br />examination. The additional six (6) points shall be added to the applicant's passing <br />score. <br />(e) Subsections (a) through (d) hereof are specifically intended to supersede <br />State Code provisions on the additional credits extended to eligible candidates for <br />appointment to a civil service position. <br />Shall be and is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />144.04 ADDITIONAL CREDITS <br />(a) Applicants otherwise eligible and qualified for original appointment to the <br />position of Patrol Officer shall be extended the following additional credit for a <br />degree from a nationally accredited college or university, if the applicant can <br />satisfactorily furnish proof of same.
