(ORC 4511.40) <br />331.16 RIGHT OF WAY AT INTERSECTIONS. <br />(a) When two vehicles approach or enter an intersection from .different streets <br />or highways at approximately the same time, the driver of the vehicle on the left shall <br />yield the right of way to the vehicle on the right. <br />(b) The right-of-way rule declared in subsection (a) hereof is modified at <br />through highways and otherwise as stated in this Traffic Code and Ohio R.C. Chapter <br />4511. <br />(ORC 4511.41) <br />331.165 INTERSECTIONS AT WHICH TRAFFIC CONTROL SIGNALS FAIL OR <br />MALFUNCTION. <br />The driver of a vehicle who approaches an intersection where traffic is controlled by <br />traffic control signals shall do all of the following, if the signal facing him or her either <br />exhibits no colored lights or colored lighted arrows or exhibits a combination of such <br />lights or arrows that fails to clearly indicate the assignment of right of way: <br />(a) Stop at a clearly marked stop line, but if none, stop before entering the <br />crosswalk on the near side of the intersection, or, if none, stop before entering the <br />intersection; <br />(b) Yield the .right of way to all vehicles in the intersection or approaching on an <br />intersecting road, if the vehicles will constitute an immediate hazard during the time the <br />driver is moving across or within the intersection or junction of roadways; <br />(c) Exercise ordinary care while proceeding through the intersection. <br />(ORC 4511.132) <br />331.17 RIGHT OF WAY WHEN TURNING LEFT. <br />The operator of a vehicle intending to turn to the left within an intersection or into <br />an alley, private road or driveway shall yield the right of way to any vehicle approaching <br />from the opposite direction, whenever the approaching vehicle is within the intersection <br />or so close to the intersection, alley, private road or driveway as to constitute an <br />immediate hazard. <br />(ORC 4511.42) <br />331.18 OPERATION OF VEHICLE AT YIELD SIGNS. <br />The driver of a vehicle approaching a yield sign shall slow down to a speed <br />reasonable for the existing conditions and, if required for safety to stop, shall stop at a <br />clearly marked stop line, but if none, before entering the crosswalk on the near side of <br />the intersection, or, if none, then at the point nearest the intersecting roadway where <br />the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway before entering <br />it.
