operation of such vehicle and so long as such vehicle is not parked or stood upon a <br />public street or public right of way for the primary purpose of advertising that vehicle <br />for sale. This section shall not apply to repairs of a vehicle necessitated by an <br />emergency. <br />(Ord. 55-01. Passed 12-3-01.) <br />351.17 PARKING COMMERCIAL VEHICLES AND RECREATIONAL EQUIPMENT. <br />(a) No person shall park a school bus, commercial tractor, agricultural tractor, <br />truck, bus, a vehicle originally manufactured and/or designed as a bus, trailer, <br />semitrailer, pole trailer, moving van, ambulance or hearse, or other than recreational <br />equipment as defined in Section 1147.02 of the Zoning Code, for a period in excess of <br />one hour on any street any time within the City, except when loading or unloading such <br />vehicle. <br />(b) No person shall park recreational equipment as defined in Section 1147.02 of <br />the Zoning Code, on any street or highway within the City for a period in excess of six <br />consecutive hours. (Ord. 7-83. Passed 2-7-83,) <br />351.18 TIME LIMITATIONS. <br />No person being the owner or having possession or control of a vehicle, shall park <br />or permit such vehicle to remain parked on any street in the City for a period in excess <br />of twenty-four hours: <br />(a) While such vehicle is in a disabled condition; or <br />(b) Without usage in the usual and ordinary manner even though such vehicle is <br />moved from place to place on the same street. <br />The term "disabled" means a flat tire or .such mechanical defect that such vehicle <br />cannot be operated under its own power or on public streets in compliance with <br />statutory or ordinance requirements. (Ord. 4830. Passed4-21-52.) <br />351.19 PERMIT FOR RESERVED SPACE. <br />(a) The Director of Public Safety may, on application made by the owner or <br />occupant of any building, issue a permit to such owner or occupant to mark with white <br />paint a portion of the curb not exceeding twenty feet in length in front of such building <br />at which portion of such curb no vehicle shall stop, except while discharging passengers <br />or merchandise at stated hours set forth in the permit. The permit issued in such cases <br />shall designate the portion of the curb to be marked and the time of day during which <br />vehicles may not stop as provided for herein. <br />(b) The person to whom such permit is issued shall be required to display a sign <br />erected on a stanchion set at the curb setting forth the hours during which vehicles may <br />not stop as provided herein. The stanchion shall carry in words and figures the <br />following: "Permit Number ", and in the blank space shall be inserted the <br />6 <br />
