number of the permit. The permit hereby authorized may be revoked at any time by the <br />Director of Public Safety. <br />(Ord. 4830. Passed 4-21-52.) <br />351.20 BUS STOPS; TAXICAB STANDS. <br />(a) The Director of Public Safety is hereby authorized and required to establish <br />bus stops and taxicab stands on such public streets in such places and in such number <br />as he shall determine to be of the greatest benefit and convenience to the public. Every <br />bus stop and taxicab stand shall be designated by appropriate signs. <br />(b) No driver of any vehicle other than a bus shall stand or park in an officially <br />designated bus stop, and no vehicle other than a taxicab shall stand or parkin an <br />officially designated taxicab stand, except that the driver of any passenger vehicle may <br />temporarily stop in any such stop or stand for the purpose of and while actually <br />engaged in the loading or unloading of passengers. <br />(c) No driver of any bus or taxicab shall stand or park upon any street in any <br />business district at any place other than at a bus stop or taxicab stand respectively, <br />except that this. provision shall not prevent the driver of any vehicle from temporarily <br />stopping in accordance with other stopping or parking regulations at any place for the <br />purpose of and while actually engaged in loading or unloading passengers. <br />(d) No driver of any bus shall stop or stand for the purpose of and while <br />engaged in loading or unloading of passengers, unless such bus is parallel to the curb <br />and within twelve inches of such curb. Passed 10-7-57.) <br />351.21 POWERS OF DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SAFETY. <br />In addition and subject to the specific provisions of this Traffic Code relative thereto, <br />the Director of Public Safety is hereby authorized to promulgate regulations designating <br />street areas wherein: <br />(a) Parking shall be limited to specified periods of time; or <br />(b) There shall be no parking at any time, when in his judgment the public <br />safety or welfare requires such limitation. (Ord. 3-61. Passed 2-6-61.) <br />(c) The Director is hereby authorized to exempt residents on those streets upon <br />which parking is prohibited between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. daily and <br />between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. daily from such prohibitions and to <br />exempt residents from the 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. snow emergency parking ban as <br />provided in Section 351.26(c) provided such residents qualify for such exemption under <br />rules and regulations as shall be established by the Director and approved by Council <br />relating thereto. Applications for such exemptions shall be filed with the Director who <br />may issue a parking permit for any motor vehicle owned by a qualified applicant. A fee <br />7 <br />
