of five dollars ($5.00) shall be charged for each permit issued hereunder and such <br />permit shall expire on June 30 following the date of issuance. There shall be no <br />proration of the permit fee required herein. <br />(Ord. 5-82. Passed 2-1-82.) <br />No such regulation shall permit parking in any of the places specifically prohibited by <br />this Traffic Code or by law, nor shall any such regulation limiting the time of parking or <br />forbidding parking be deemed to apply oh Sundays, holidays other than Saturday <br />afternoon, or between the hours of 6:00 p. m. and 7:00 a. m. unless the regulations <br />and the sign evidencing the same specifically so state, provided, further, that no such <br />regulations shall be construed to permit parking on both sides of streets, the pavement <br />of which is twenty-six feet or less in width. Such regulations shall. become effective <br />upon delivery of a copy to the Chief of Police, upon publication once in a newspaper of <br />general circulation in the City and upon erection of signs sufficient in number to apprise <br />the ordinarily observant person of the existence of the regulations and such regulations <br />shall continue to have the force and effect of ordinances until rescinded by the Director <br />of Public Safety or disapproved by ordinance of Council. Violation of any such <br />regulations shall be subject to the provisions and penalties provided and prescribed in <br />Section 303.99 and to the waiver prescribed in Section 351.99. (Ord. 3-61. Passed 2-6- <br />61. ) <br />351.22 POWERS OF CHIEF OF POLICE. <br />The Chief of Police shall have authority to cause to be towed from the street, park <br />or public grounds, any vehicle improperly parked or in case the owner or driver thereof <br />has ignored two or more parking violation notices. <br />(Ord. 47-55. Passed 9-19-55.) <br />351.23 METHODS OF PARKING. <br />(a) Except on one-way streets as provided in subsection (b) hereof, and except <br />where angle parking is permitted by ordinance, every vehicle stopped or parked upon a <br />street where there is an adjacent curb shall be stopped or parked with the right-hand <br />wheels of such vehicle parallel with and not more than twelve inches from the right- <br />hand curb unless it is impossible to approach so close to the curb and in such case the <br />stop shall be as close to the curb as possible and only for the time necessary to <br />discharge and receive passengers or to load or unload merchandise. <br />(b) Parking of vehicles with the left-hand wheels adjaceht to and within twelve <br />inches of the left-hand curb of a one-way street may be permitted by regulation <br />promulgated by the Director of Public Safety provided appropriate signs are erected. <br />(c) No vehicle shall be stopped or parked on a street with the vehicle facing in a <br />direction other than the direction of travel on that side of the street. <br />8 <br />
