Proposed Ordinance 53-10. Substituted October 18, 2010. <br />(1) Within the maximum sign face area for permanent signs established for the Ci, <br />C2, C3 zoning districts, a single billboard is permitted on a premise provided that <br />it is: <br />A. Located on a plain wall surface and not extending above the roofline <br />or beyond. the end wall. A plain wall is a surface of either brick, wood, <br />masoriry or other material, or a part thereof, without windows, cornices, <br />or other architectural or decorative features. <br />B. Placed flat against and fastened on the building which has such <br />eligible .plain wall surface. <br />C. Containing a sign area not exceeding forty square feet nor more than <br />ten percent (10%) of the eligible wall surface, whichever is less. <br />D. Located at: <br />1. A minimum of fifty feet from any public right of way; <br />2. To directly face parking lots, which are located in either side <br />yards or rear yards; <br />3. So as not to directly face premises in the R-1L, R-1M, R-iH, <br />R2, ML, MH and L zoning districts; and <br />4. On a wall which is not otherwise in a required yard. <br />E. A maximum of sixteen feet above the ground. <br />F. On vacant lots, the sign area and location of a billboard is governed <br />by subsection (d)(4) hereof. <br />G. The total face area shall not exceed the limits established in <br />subsection (c)(1) hereof. <br />(2) Billboards shall be processed and evaluated by the Board of Building Standards in <br />accordance with the procedures of Section 1329.12, 1329.05(m) and all other <br />applicable regulations in this chapter. Passed 9-3-85; Ord. 25-96. <br />Passed 10-7-96.) <br />1329.10 SIGNS: INDUSTRIAL I DISTRICT. <br />Accessory signs in the Industrial I District shall be designed, erected, altered, moved and <br />maintained in whole or in part, in accordance with these regulations. The requirements of the <br />Industrial District shall be the same as the requirements of the Cl, C2 and C3 Districts specified <br />in Section 1329.09, except as otherwise stated herein. <br />(a) Functional Types Permitted. Development signs of a temporary nature, directional <br />signs, identification signs and real estate .signs. <br />(b) Structural Types Permitted. Ground, pole and wall signs. <br />(c) Maximum Sign Face Area. The maximum sign face area of all permanent signs <br />permitted for each separate use occupying a building or unit of a building shall be related to <br />the frontage of the building or unit thereof, as determined by the following formula: <br />Maximum sign face area = W x 3 square feet, except that the total in all cases <br />shall not exceed 100 square feet. <br />The elements of such formula being defined as follows: <br />Page 11 of 28 <br />
