A. Any person walking a dog on paved paths <br />shall yield way to any and all traffic on the <br />paths without dogs and shall obey other <br />rules related to traffic on paved paths at the <br />park posted by the Director of Public Works. <br />B. Dogs shall be prohibited on July 4 and on <br />any days or portions of days during which <br />widely-attended public events, including but <br />not limited to City-sponsored events or <br />events for which a "Special Event Permit" <br />has been issued, shall be staged wholly or in <br />part at Lakewood Park and at which the <br />Chief of Police or the Director of Public <br />Works determines that prohibiting leashed <br />dog walking at Lakewood Park would he <br />conducive to public safety: At such times <br />that dogs shall be prohibited in a park, signs <br />indicating the prohibition shall be <br />conspicuously posted at entrances to the <br />park. <br />(5) Notwithstanding any other provision of this <br />ordinance, dogs shall be prohibited from the <br />following areas within Lakewood Park and <br />Kauffman Park: <br />A. playground equipment, playground areas, <br />and 30 feet immediately surrounding; <br />B. the athletic fields, whether or not they are in <br />use; <br />C. any garden or decorative areas planted with <br />vegetables, <br />D. flowers, shrubs, or other decorative <br />vegetation; <br />E. the Kiwanis Pavilion; and <br />F. the handicap-accessible ramp which extends from the <br />eastern end of the top of the bluff to the lower lakefront <br />promenade. <br />
