(5) Details and specifications for construction, erection and attachment as may <br />be required by the Building Code. <br />(c) A sign permit is applicable only to the specific sign for which it is granted. <br />Once a sign permit is granted, no temporary or permanent signs shall be <br />attached or added to the given sign. <br />(d) All signs shall be approved by the Board of Building Standards. However, <br />the Building Commissioner is authorized to issue canopy, wall, window <br />and awning signs, as defined in Section 1329.03(c)(1), (7), (8) and (9), <br />without additional Board approval, for any structure that has been <br />previously reviewed by the Board of Building Standards / Architectural <br />Board of Review, where a building standard for uniform signage has been <br />established for two or more retail, mercantile or other business occupancies <br />and where the new signage is in conformity with the general plan for the <br />building and complies with all other applicable sections of this chapter. <br />(e) The Building Commissioner may issue permits for temporary signs, as <br />defined in Section 1329.03(b)(10, not to exceed four permits to an <br />applicant relative to a specific sign per twelve -month period. <br />(t) The repainting of existing signs tine same color, size and message shall be <br />considered maintenance, and no permit shall be required. <br />1329.13 MAINTENANCE AND REMOVAL OF SIGNS <br />All signs, canopies and awnings shall be kept and maintained in good repair to <br />preserve safe, clean and orderly condition and appearance. <br />Signs which no longer serve the purpose for which they were intended, or which <br />have been abandoned or are not maintained in accordance with this chapter and <br />other applicable regulations of the City shall be removed by the latest permit <br />holder or by the City at the expense of such permit holder. <br />Whenever the removal or maintenance of any sign has been ordered by the <br />Building Commissioner, tine person, firm or corporation who erected such sign <br />or on whose premises such sign or display structure has been erected, affixed or <br />attached shall remove or maintain such sign within forty-eight hours after <br />receiving such notice. in the event of noncompliance, the Commissioner may <br />remove or cause to be removed or maintain such sign at the expense of the <br />person, firm or corporation who erected such sign or on whose premises it was <br />erected, affixed or attached; each such person, firm or corporation shall be <br />individually and separately liable for the expense incurred in the removal of <br />such sign. <br />1329.14 GENERAL CONDITIONS AND MATERIALS. <br />(a) Allowable Stress. All materials used in structural elements of outdoor signs <br />or display structures, and the allowable stresses for such materials, shall be <br />in conformity with the applicable provisions of this chapter. The allowable <br />stresses in chains, cables and guy rods and their fastenings shall not exceed <br />one - fourth their ultimate strength. <br />(b) Noncombustible Signs. When noncombustible outdoor signs or display <br />structures are required by this chapter, all parts including the supporting <br />structure shall be of noncombustible material; provided, however, that <br />
