(15) "Streamer or Wind sign" means any sign designed to move in the wind that <br />is not specifically a pennant or lighter -than -air sign. <br />(16) "Electronic Reader Board sign' means a Sign designed to display a message <br />or graphics electronically produced. <br />(c) Classification by Structural Type. <br />(1) "Canopy sign' means a sign attached to the underside of the canopy at a <br />ninety degree angle to the street, intended for pedestrian visibility. <br />(2) "Ground sign' means a freestanding sign which has a supporting base <br />designed as an integral part of the sign and resting totally or primarily on <br />the ground. <br />"Off- Premises sign" means any sign that is not located on the property to <br />which it is associated, or located on a property without the consent of the owner <br />of the property. <br />(3) "Pole sign' means a sign that is supported wholly by a pole or poles and <br />designed so as to permit pedestrian or vehicular traffic there under. <br />(4) "Portable sign' means a sign that is designed to be portable and is not <br />permanently attached to any part of a building. <br />(5) "Projecting sign' means a sign erected on the outside wall of a building and <br />which projects out at an angle there from. <br />(6) "Roof sign' means a sign erected upon and completely over the roof of any <br />building. <br />(7) "Wall sign' means a sign integral with the exterior face of an exterior wall <br />of a building, or attached to the wall or parallel with the wall and projecting <br />not more that twelve inches there from. <br />(8) "Window sign' means a sign painted, attached or affixed to the interior <br />surface of windows or doors of a building or are affixed inside the building <br />within 24" of the interior window surface and visible from the public right <br />of way. <br />(9) "Awning sign' means a sign painted, attached, embossed or affixed to a <br />fixed or retractable awning. <br />(10) "Mural signs" means a sign painted on or applied to an exterior wall surface <br />of the of a building. <br />1329.04 MEASUREMENT STANDARDS. <br />The size of signs is regulated in this chapter by relating the gross area of signs to <br />the building or use of a lot, or the size of the building unit to which the sign is <br />accessory. <br />(a) The gross area of signs for a building or use shall include all permanent <br />surfaces visible from a public way and shall be measured for all signs <br />except projecting or pole signs as follows: <br />
