505.19 RABIES VACCINATION OF DOGS AND CATS RE- <br />QUIRED. <br />Any person owning any dog or cat over 120 days of age shall be <br />required to have such animal currently immunized against rabies. For <br />the purpose of this chapter "currently immunized" or vaccinated against <br />rabies shall mean that such dog or cat has been inoculated against ra- <br />bies by a licensed veterinarian within the past thirty-six months. How- <br />ever, dogs and cats receiving the first rabies inoculation must receive a <br />second rabies inoculation within twelve months. This provision shall <br />not apply to an), cattefie bfeedeF do!), feensed under the previsions-of <br />this chapter. <br />(b) Whoever violates this section is euilty of a minor misdemeanor. <br />Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council con- <br />cerning and relating to the passage of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of <br />this Council and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees <br />that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance <br />with all legal requirements. <br />Section 4. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure neces- <br />sary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and wel- <br />fare in the City and for the usual daily operation of the City for the reasons set forth and <br />defined in its preamble, and provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least five <br />members of Council this ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately, or oth- <br />erwise shall take effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law. <br />Adopted: uri c ! 2�) l �- <br />R�BIDEN <br />r -T <br />C ERK <br />Approved: j r"ei sot 7 ; <br />MAYOR <br />
