No. <br /> <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION memori~ <br />Honorable James Ao Rhodes, Governor of the State of Ohio <br />and the Director of Highways, Mro Po Eo Masheter, to take <br />immediate action to remove the freeway sign recently erected <br />by the Department of Highways of the State of Ohio at the <br />westerly end of Clifton Boulevard in the City of Lakewood. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The Department of Highways of the State <br />of Ohio has recently erected a traffic directional sign at the <br />westerly end of Clifton Boulevard in the City of Lakewood, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Said sign completely spans said Clifton <br />Boulevard from the northerly curb to the southerly curb <br />thereof, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Said Clifton Boulevard is entirely <br /> residential in character and the traffic permitted by law thereon <br /> is boulevard traffic only, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The maximum speed at which traffic is <br /> permitted to travel thereon throughout its entire length is <br /> thirty-five (35) miles per hour, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Said sign is intended to control the flow <br /> of traffic at a very simple, uncomplicated turn-off, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Said sign is larger, more costly and much <br /> less attractive than necessary to serve its intended purpose, <br /> and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, The residents in the immediate area of <br /> said sign are greatly exercised over the presence of said sign <br /> and have vociferously made their displeasure known to this <br /> Council of the City of Lakewood, and, <br /> <br /> WHEP~AS, The continued presence of said sign can <br /> result only in destroying property values in the immediate area <br /> <br />thereof, and, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This <br />sympathy with the property <br />the presence of said sign, <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, This <br /> <br />Council is in complete agreement and <br />owners and residents affected by <br />and, <br /> <br />Council is of the opinion that the <br /> <br />best interests of the City of Lakewood, its residents and <br />property owners as well as the interests of the motorists travel- <br />ing upon said Clifton Boulevard would best be served by the <br />removal of said sign; now, therefore, <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LAKEWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br /> <br />
