RESOLUTION NO. <br /> <br />4636 <br /> <br />BY: Messrs. Gaydos, Graber, <br /> Euffman, Kelley, Ward, Wendling <br /> <br />AN E~RGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Director of Public Works to <br />advertise for bids for the sale of a portion of the real estate known <br />generally as the Belle-St. Charles Parking Lot, and hereinafter speci- <br />fically described, which property is now o~,ned by the City of Lakewood <br />and is not needed for any municipal purpose. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a 500-car Municipal Parking Garage has now been completed in <br />the Belle-St. Charles neighborhood, and will fulfill the parking needs <br />of this area in the foreseeable future, and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure in that it <br />provides for the preservation of the public peace, property, health <br />and safety and for the usual daily operation of a municipal department, <br />and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a portion of the former parking lot will no longer be needed <br />for any municipal purpose and should be developed commercially in order <br />to further stimulate business in this neighborhood; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAREWOOD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to <br />advertise for bids for the sale of a certain parcel of real estate <br />nowowned by the City of Lakewood and described as follows: <br /> <br />Situated in the City of Lakewood, County of Cuyahoga, State <br />of Ohio, being part of Original Rockport Township Section <br />No. 22 and further described as follows: <br /> <br />Beginning in the Southerly line of Detroit Avenue (as widened <br />10 feet) at its intersection with the Westerly line of the <br />Belle Avenue Allotment as recorded in Volume 41, Page 23 of <br />Cuyahoga County Map Records; said beginning point is distant <br />East along the South line of Detroit Avenue 170.70 feet from <br />a point in the center line of St. Charles Avenue which is <br />43.18 feet South along said center line from the center line <br />of Detroit Avenue. <br /> <br />Thence South along the Westerly line of Sublot No. 1 in <br />said Allotment so recorded as aforesaid, and along the <br />extension Southerly of said Westerly line about 129.39 <br />feet, but to its intersectiOn with the extension Westerly <br />of the Northerly line of said Sublot No. 5 in said Belle <br />Avenue Allotment. <br /> <br />Thence Westerly om the extension of the Northerly line of <br />said Sublot No. 5 about 85 feet to the Easterly line of land <br />formerly owned by Sophia S. Schlather by deed recorded in <br />Volume ~085, Page 389 of Cuyahoga County Deed Records. <br /> <br />Thence Northerly along said Easterly line of land conveyed <br />to Schlather as aforesaid, about 121.78 feet to the South <br />line of Detroit Avenue. <br /> <br />Thence Easterly along the South line of Detroit Avenue about <br />85.60 feet to ~the Place of Beginning. <br /> <br />Section 2. That said advertisement shall state that because of the <br />proximity of the new Municipal Parking Garage, the off-street parking <br />requirements contained in Section 1115.015 of the Codified Ordinances <br />shall be waived.
