<br /> RESOLUTION ND. 5666 BY: Brawn, Gallagher, Graham, McBride, <br /> Salmon, Wendling <br /> AN EMERGENCY RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor, on behalf of the City <br /> of Lakewood, to enter into an agreement with the Board of County Commissioners <br /> of Cuyahoga County to create and participate in a county-wide disaster services <br /> agency to be known as Cuyahoga County Disaster Services Agency. <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Cuyahoga County has <br /> proposed to effeot a county-wide disaster services agency in the form authorized <br /> by Section 5915.07, as amended, of the Ohio Revised Code, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners has adopted a Resolution <br /> setting forth the organization, duties, and responsibilities for such community <br /> disaster services with provisions for termination by any participating municipal- <br /> ity at the end of any calendar year by legislative action, not less than ninety <br /> (90) days prior to the end of said calendar year, and <br /> 1VHEREAS, this Council has determined that said county-wide disaster <br /> services agency to be known as the Cuyahoga County Disaster Services Agency, <br /> would be a proper organization for civil preparedness in the event of emergency <br /> or disaster and it is in the best interest of the City to participate in such <br /> organization, and <br /> WHEREAS, this resolution constitutes an emergency measure providing <br /> for the immediate preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and <br /> for the usual daily operation of a municipal department; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAKEWGDD, STATE OF OHIO: <br /> Section 1. That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and <br /> directed to enter into an agreement with the Board of County Commissioners of <br /> Cuyahoga County to create and participate in a county-wide disaster services <br /> agency, which agency shall come into effect at such time as a majority of the <br /> political subdivisions of Cuyahoga County, including the City of Cleveland, <br /> shall have subscribed to the Agreement by adopting legislation similar to the <br /> 4aithin Resolution. <br /> Section 2. That such agreement shall be in words and symbols as set <br /> in the Resolution adopted by the Cuyahoga County Commissioners, a copy of <br /> which Resolution is attached hereto and made a part hereof as though fully <br /> rewritten herein and marked Exhibit "A", it being understood by the City of <br /> Lakewood that any contributions to said agency shall be on a voluntary basis. <br /> Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of <br /> this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were <br /> adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of <br /> this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action, <br /> ware in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements <br /> including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. <br /> Section 4.
