DISASTER SERVICES AGENCY 1 WFiFY.E{`.S, the coordinatior. of civi_ preparedness activities within the Brea 2 cif Cuyahoga County is one of par<<-.mc.a!t importance to all o: the local Disaster 3, Services organizations therein; and I~ k'HEREAS, the count;; of Cuyahoga: ,.wires to effect such necessary cocrdinaticr. 5 by er..tering into agreements, in the marzer provided by law (Ohio Revised Code, Section 6 59°5.07, as amended), with the various municipal corporations and townships, hereinafter ? referred to as the politica= subdivisicns; znd 8 ti.7iEREAS, in accordance with regulations, issued by the Governer of the State of 9 tlhio, dated 17 June 1866 (or later revision thereof) and Section 5~1;.G7 of the Revised 10 Ciode, as amended, a legal bas9s exists for the establishm~t of a county-wide disaster 11 Services organization, with the power to coordinate the civil preparedness activities 12 of the participants thereof; and 13 wHEP.EAS, it is further declared tc be the purpose of this Resolutier. and the lb policy of the County of Cuyahoga that all civil preparedness functions of the County i5 be coordinated to the maximum with comparable function of the State of Ohio and the 16 Federal Government, including their various departments and agencies, and other states 17 2nd localities, and of private agencies of every type, to the end that the most effective 18 Preparation and use car. be made of the County's manpower; facilities and other resources 19 $or dealing with any disaster or emergency that may occur; and 20 WH~,EAS, it is hereby found and declared to be necessary to create a county-wide 21 disaster services organization to be known as the Cuyahoga County Disaster Services 22 Agency; to confer upon the Executive Committee and the Director of Disaster Services c^3 certain emergency responsibilities provided herein; and to provide fer the rendering 24 df cooperation and mutual aid, if necessary, to surrounding and contiguous political 2j subdivisions of the State and adjoining states: 26 NOi;, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVEL`, 27 i.
