<br /> A RESOLUTION to commend Lakewood High School's "It's Academic"
<br />team for reaching the 1996-1997 semi,final matches.
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Bay, Madison and Cuyahoga Heights will compete in the first
<br />semi-final match, scheduled to air Sunday, June 8, at 6:30 p.m. on WEWS-TV5, and
<br />
<br /> Whereas, the second match, featuring Parma, Hudson and Lakewood will
<br />air Sunday, June 15, at 6:30 p.m., and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, St. Ignatius, Olmsted Falls and Cleveland Heights will face
<br />offin the last of the three semi-final games, which airs Sunday, June 22, at 6:30 p.m., and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, Betsy Usher, Joe Jacoby, John Altiare and Juliet White,
<br />helped Lakewood High School Students John lgrec, Mark Dziak and Mike Kowalski
<br />compete with 78 teams/schools from a 17 county TV5 viewing area, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, John Igrec, Mark Dziak, and Mike Kowalski, make up
<br />Lakewood High School's dynamic Academic team, and
<br />
<br /> WHEREAS, the winners of the three semi-final matches will return for the
<br />final 1996-1997 championship match, airing Sunday, June 29, at 6:30 p.m. on WEWS-
<br />TV5; now, therefore,
<br />
<br />OHIO: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, STATE OF
<br />
<br /> Section 1. That this Council and Mayor, hereby commend Lakewood High
<br />School's "It's Academic" Team for placing in one of three semi-final games on TV5's It's
<br />Academic Program and further wish them luck in the upcoming semi-final matches.
<br />
<br /> Section 2. That the Clerk of Council be and is hereby authorized and
<br />directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to Lakewood High School, 14100
<br />Franklin Blvd., Lakewood, Ohio 44107, and that a copy of this Resolution be spread
<br />upon the minutes of the meeting.
