A~er extensive review and discussion at the Public Hearing, the CAC voted unanimously to
recommend adoption by City Council of the proposed new guidelines for the City's Storefront
Renovation Program as presented by the Administration and approved by the Division of Community
Development Loan Approval Board.

Recently, the Storefront Renovation Program, which has been in existence since 1978 and is
funded with Community Development Block Grant Funds, has not been utilized at the levels that we
have seen in the past. Therefore, the Committee is pleased, to see the proposed enhancements to
the program which we believe will greatly assist our commercial property owners to strengthen and
improve the vitality of our business districts. As such, we urge City Council to adopt the proposed
modifications to the Storefront Program as approved at the .luly 10, 2001 Public Hearing.

Very truly yours,//~/

NiCkie Antonio, C~airperson

Attachments

CC:

Honorable Mayor Madeline A.
