Specifications prepared in accordance with the most - current CSI MasterFormat <br />which establish in detail the quality levels of all materials and systems required <br />for the Project; <br />All stipulations pertaining to the furnishing and installation of the Work as <br />required for completion of the Project; and, <br />QA/QC procedures for processes /equipment, materials and start- <br />up /commissioning. <br />3. Digester Cleaning and Inspection Stage <br />The Design Builder (DB) perform a turnkey project, which includes cleaning, <br />removal and disposal of all fluid contents and solids including sludge, scum, grit, sand, and <br />other materials deposited in the digester; structural inspection of each digester and returning <br />the digesters back into service. Such removed materials shall be disposed of off -site by the <br />DB at the DB's expense. The existing digester mixers shall be removed during the cleaning <br />and inspection process, delivered to the Owner for maintenance, and then re- installed and <br />placed into service by the Contractor. <br />The scope of the Primary Digester Cleaning and Inspection includes: <br />Remove materials from the digester and restore the digester to original capacity. <br />Sludge and solids are to be removed from both Primary Digesters. Contractor shall perform <br />a turnkey project, which includes mobilization cleaning, cleaning, removal and disposal of all <br />fluid contents and solids including sludge, scum, grit, sand, and other materials deposited in <br />the digester. Such removed materials shall be disposed of off site by the Contractor at the <br />Contractor's expense. The materials which are not suitable for land application shall be <br />disposed in an approved landfill. Costs related to disposal, inclusive of removal, <br />transportation and land application, landfilling, or other methods, shall be included in the <br />price bid. The Contractor shall supply to the City weight tickets for all sludge hauled from <br />the site as the basis of payment. The scales used by the contractor to provide the weigh <br />tickets shall be subject to acceptance by the City. <br />The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, chemicals, equipment or <br />process machinery as well as all trucks and suitable containers, supplies, personnel and all <br />other requirements necessary for laboratory testing, processing, removing, hauling and <br />disposal of liquid and solids removed from the digesters. There are no representations as to <br />the condition, hardness, or type of material to be removed. It is believed that the digesters at <br />Lakewood WWTP have not been cleaned in the past 20 years. <br />After each digester is cleaned, the FOR shall conduct an internal and external <br />structural inspection and analysis of the digester tank. The inspection shall determine the <br />tanks' condition, identify and quantify needed repairs and analyze the tanks' suitability for <br />8 1 P a g e <br />
