Mr. Beno explained that the City has not been involved with this purchasing consortium in <br />the past but has been with about ten other consortiums. He noted that a past vendor switched <br />from another consortium to this one. The City wants to continue with the vendor to maintain <br />matching park equipment. <br />Motion adopted. All members voting yea. <br />10. Communication from Public Works Director Beno regarding Cuyahoga County Solid <br />Waste District. (Pg. 35) <br />Motion by Mr. O'Leary, seconded by Mr. Anderson to receive and file the communication. <br />Discussion: Mr. Bullock thanked Director Beno for continuing to educate the public on these <br />matters. <br />On the motion: Motion adopted. All members voting yea. <br />* ** *PUBLIC COMMENT * * ** <br />Steve Lamantia — 2164 Arthur Ave <br />Mr. Lamantia thanked Chief Gilman for arranging for a CPR training to be held at the new <br />Cleveland Clinic facility in Lakewood. <br />****ANNOUNCEMENTS**** <br />Mayor Summers announced that he will address a group of planners at the Environmental <br />Design Group meeting tomorrow morning about the solstice steps and all the activities that <br />occur there. <br />Mr. O'Malley announced that tomorrow and next Tuesday there will be a free poetry <br />workshop at the Lakewood Public Library as part of National Poetry Month led by a local <br />poet. <br />Mr. Anderson announced the Heroin to Hope Event on April 17`h at Lakewood United <br />Methodist Church. <br />Councilmembers wished a happy birthday to Director Gelsomino. <br />
