30. RESOLUTION 9043 -18 — A RESOLUTION to recognize Miss Ruby McEwen for the talented writing, civic pride, and heartfelt sentiments she displayed in her award - winning essay "Why I Love Lakewood." (pg.84) Motion by Council President O'Leary, seconded by Mr. Anderson to adopt Resolution 9043- 18. All members voting yea. Motion passed. 31. Communication from Councilmember Bullock regarding Resolution to recognize Cerny Shoes. (pg.85) Motion by Councilmember Bullock, seconded by President O'Leary to receive and file the communication. Discussion: Mr. Bullock thanked Ian Andrews of Lakewood Alive for facilitating the resolution. He thanked the Cernys for all of their years of business in the City President O'Leary expressed appreciation to the Cernys for being an anchor business in downtown On the motion: All members voting yea. Motion passed. 32. RESOLUTION 9044 -18 — A RESOLUTION to recognize Cerny Shoes for its incredible longevity as a flagship retailer on Lakewood's Detroit Ave. since 1903. (pg. 86) Motion by Council President O'Leary, seconded by Mr. Anderson to adopt Resolution 9044- 18. Don &Marlene Cerny addressed Council, thanked the City and their customers. They expressed appreciation for the recognition on behalf of their family. On the motion: All members voting yea. Motion passed. 33. Communication from Councilmember George regarding appointment to the Lakewood Community Relations Advisory Commission. (pg.87) Motion by Ms. George, seconded by President O'Leary to receive and file the communication. All members voting yea. Motion passed.
