Council President O'Leary introduced Nick Lascu as the new Deputy Clerk of a Council, a <br />position formerly held by the current clerk Ms. Maureen McHugh Bach. He outlined the <br />interview and selection processes that all members partook in. <br />Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Mr. Anderson to receive and file communication. <br />All members voting yea. Motion passed. <br />19. RESOLUTION 9048-19 <br />receives the affirmative <br />otherwise to take effect <br />appointing <br />- A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it <br />vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or <br />and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, <br />as Deputy Clerk of Council. (pg. 92) <br />Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Mr. Anderson to insert the name Nicholas Lascu <br />into the blanks in Resolution 9048-19. <br />All members voting yea. Motion passed. <br />Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Mr. Anderson to adopt Resolution 9048-19. <br />President O'Leary extended a sincere welcome to Mr. Lascu and expressed excitement on <br />behalf of all of Council for him to be on board. <br />All members voting yea. Motion passed. <br />20. Communication from Council President O'Leary regarding ordinance to prohibit use of <br />mobile telephones while driving. (pg. 93) <br />Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Mr. Anderson to receive and file the <br />communication. <br />All members voting yea. Motion passed. <br />21. ORDINANCE 05-19 - AN ORDINANCE to take effect at the earliest period allowed by <br />law enacting Section 331.346, Using Mobile Telephones while Driving, of the Codified <br />Ordinances of the City of Lakewood in order to update the Code so as to regulate the use <br />of mobile phones while driving in the City.
