President O'Leary remarked that the program will improve community health in a tangible <br /> way. He noted other cities across the country launching these programs and their models. <br /> Councilmember Litten expressed appreciation to Bruce, the paramedic in attendance for his <br /> service and presence. <br /> All members voted in favor of receiving and filing. <br /> 29. Communication from Mayors Summers appointing Anastasia Loejos to the City of <br /> Lakewood Community Relations Advisory Committee. (pg. 149) <br /> Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Vice President Anderson to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> All members voting yea. Motion passed. <br /> 30. Communication from Director Sylvester requesting authority to sell 1477 Lauderdale Ave. <br /> (pg. 150) <br /> Director Sylvester asked for Council's consideration of the following ordinance on the floor <br /> and possibly on second reading in order for the property to hit the market in June. <br /> Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Vice President Anderson to receive and file the <br /> communication. <br /> Council discussed how it will address the matter, whether on the floor, or in committee and <br /> concluded that it will address it on the floor. <br /> It was clarified by the Law Department that the ordinance is written with emergency <br /> language so that it will go into effect immediately upon the Mayor's signature. <br /> Councilmember O'Malley voiced support for the ordinance, stating that it helps to create <br /> affordable housing in the City. <br /> On the motion: All members voting yea. Motion passed. <br /> 31. ORDINANCE 17-19 - AN ORDINANCE to take effect immediately provided it receives <br /> the affirmative vote of at least two thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take <br /> effect and be in force after the earliest period allowed by law, authorizing and directing the <br /> Director of Planning and Development or the Mayor to enter into an agreement with a <br /> licensed real estate broker to market for sale the real property located at 1477 Lauderdale <br />
