Communication from Director Sylvester requesting authority to sell 1477 Lauderdale Ave. (pg. 150) Director Sylvester asked for Council's consideration of the following ordinance on the floor and possibly on second reading in order for the property to hit the market in June. Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Vice President Anderson to receive and file the communication. Council discussed how it will address the matter, whether on the floor, or in committee and concluded that it will address it on the floor. It was clarified by the Law Department that the ordinance is written with emergency language so that it will go into effect immediately upon the Mayor's signature. Councilmember O'Malley voiced support for the ordinance, stating that it helps to create affordable housing in the City. On the motion: All members voting yea. Motion passed. 31.
