The administration responded to the questions about the hospital, stating that demolition has <br /> been taking place on the interior and that exterior demolition will begin next week and take <br /> about three weeks. Preserving the Lakewood Hospital fagade is not practical for the proposed <br /> new development. <br /> Director Beno replied that he would look into the timing of lights on Detroit and explained <br /> some recent changes. <br /> Regarding the last concern,Mayor Summers stated that Building inspectors do inspect for <br /> chipped paint and that the City can follow up if an address is provided. <br /> ****ANNOUNCEMENTS**** <br /> Mayor Summers updated Council on his recent on-site meeting with the Ohio EPA. The City <br /> learned that the U.S.EPA is working on a 20 page response to the City's IWWIP Phase 2 <br /> plan.He remarked on some of the anticipated areas of disagreement. He stated that he will be <br /> meeting with a representative from the U.S.EPA on June 19t' in Washington D.C. <br /> Mayor Summers updated Council on his discussion with the U.S. Postal Service in light of <br /> the fact that the current property they are leasing in Lakewood is for sale. The Postal Service <br /> has communicated its intent to stay in Lakewood. The City is working to line up a"plan B" <br /> for the postal service in case they need to change location.He committed to keeping Council <br /> updated. <br /> Mayor Summers announced The Taste of Lakewood this Sunday at Madison Park. <br /> Mayor Summers addressed follow up questions from Councilmembers regarding the EPA <br /> visit and the post office news. <br /> Motion by Mr. O'Leary, seconded by Mr. Anderson,to adjourn the meeting. <br /> Motion adopted.All members voting yea. <br /> Meeting adjourned 9:05 PM. <br /> Approved: l `% <br /> CLERK <br /> _a _PRESIDENT <br /> 10 <br />
