****NEW BUSINESS**** <br /> 10. Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board—Historic Preservation Awards —to be provided. <br /> Peter Ketter, the board chair of the Lakewood Heritage Advisory Board (LHAB), gave an <br /> introduction of the organization and described how it advises City Council on historic <br /> preservation issues. LHAB identified projects taking place under the Architectural Board of <br /> Review and gave awards to the following property owners and addresses: <br /> - Kevin and Anne Thomas — 14221 Madison Ave. —the former Fridrich Moving & Storage <br /> Warehouse now adapted to house Western Reserve Distillers <br /> - Wanda Dara — 12108 Madison Ave. — the property was reimagined into Liliana Bridal <br /> House <br /> - Perry Grosos—11801 Clifton Blvd.—originally built as a medical office that has now been <br /> converted into a property that houses the Diner on Clifton <br /> - Zach Tessler and Jackie Taylor— 15526 Madison Ave. — storefront rehabilitation project <br /> that houses Goodkind Coffee <br /> - Jim Goutus and Brian Russets — 17001 Madison Ave. — storefront rehabilitation project <br /> that houses Rood Food and Pie <br /> President O'Leary expressed his thanks to LHAB and the award winners and acknowledged <br /> important role of commercial redevelopment. Councilman Litten noted that 3 out of 5 of the <br /> awards were given on the eastern half of Lakewood and that 4 out of 5 awards were on <br /> Madison Ave., which has had a history of vacancies. He noted that Kevin and Anne Thomas <br /> of Western Reserve Distillers took the time to meet with residents and showed them the plans <br /> for the property, which helped get rid of neighborhood concerns. Councilman Rader noted <br /> that Madison Ave. I sup and coming and thanked the award winners for investing in the area. <br /> Councilman Bullock thanked LHAB for convening the awards and congratulated Mr. Ketter <br /> on his new role. <br /> Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Vice President Anderson to receive and file the <br /> communication. All members voting yea. Motion passed. <br /> 11. Communication from Councilmembers Bullock, Rader & O'Malley regarding resolution <br /> to thank Ms. Kara Vlach-Lasher for her leadership on the Lakewood Animal Safety and <br /> Welfare Advisory Board.
