RESOLUTION 9081-19 -A RESOLUTION to endorse the principles for tree care and the urban forestry management goals recommended by the 2013-2014 Lakewood Tree Task Force and City Forestry Manager. Resolution 9081-19 referred to Public Works Committee. 12. Communication from Councilmembers Bullock & Rader regarding resolution to support climate change plans. (pg. 35) Motion by Councilmember Bullock, seconded by President O'Leary to receive and file the communication. McKenzie Levi — 14811 Hilliard—Mr. Levi characterized the Green New Deal as a communist and socialist policy and discouraged Council from supporting it. On the motion: all members voted yea. Motion passed. 13. RESOLUTION 9082-19 -A RESOLUTION to endorse various plans to address climate change, a pressing problem already affecting Lakewood. (pg. 37) Motion by President O'Leary, seconded by Councilmember Rader to adopt Resolution 9082- 19. Councilmember O'Malley expressed support for the principles of the policies referenced in the resolution. He expressed hope that our nation can have a thriving economy that supports workers and is also respectful of our environment. He expressed enthusiasm that the Blue- Green Alliance plan was included in the resolution.
