The Dealer's <br />License Revocation Appeals Board may affirm, reverse, or modify the decision appealed from. <br />(b) The members of the Dealer's License Revocation Appeals Board will include the Director of <br />Public Safety or a designee, the chairperson of the safety committee of City Council, and the <br />President of City Council. <br />(c) No dealer shall employ, or enter into any partnership or corporation with any person, firm or <br />corporation whose dealer's license has been revoked. <br />is hereby repealed. <br />Section 9. Section 549.25, Registration of Handguns, of the Lakewood Codified <br />Ordinances, currently reading as follows: <br />549.25 REGISTRATION OF HANDGUNS. <br />(a) Handgun registration is voluntary and application can be made by the person claiming to be <br />the owner of the handgun to be registered at the Division of Police, by presenting a copy of the ATF <br />Form 4473, or, other documentation which corresponds to the handgun to be registered. <br />(b) All registration receipts issued pursuant to this section shall be entitled "City of Lakewood, <br />Ohio, Handgun Registration Receipt;" be serially numbered according to a system devised by the <br />Chief of Police, bear date of issue, the name of the Chief of Police, the applicant's name, home <br />address, the signature of the applicant, and contain the name of the manufacturer or importer, type, <br />caliber and serial number of the handgun. A copy of each registration receipt shall be retained by <br />the Chief, together with a copy of the applicant, which documents shall be maintained on permanent <br />file by the Chief. Such documents shall be maintained on permanent confidential file by the <br />Division of Police, to be made available only through subpoena by a court of record. <br />(c) Any person who sells or otherwise transfers possession of a registered handgun shall surrender <br />the registration receipt for such handgun with the name, address and social security number, of the <br />buyer enclosed thereon, to the Division of Police. <br />(d) No person shall sell, purchase, own, possess, transfer, give, deliver, receive or have on or <br />about his person or use any handgun which does not contain an engraved serial number or other <br />numerical identification pursuant to federal law and regulation. <br />is hereby repealed. <br />Section 10. Section 549.26, Domestic Relations Abuse Prevention; Weapons Surrender, <br />of the Lakewood Codified Ordinances, currently reading as follows: <br />549.26 DOMESTIC RELATIONS ABUSE PREVENTION; WEAPONS SURRENDER. <br />(a) If, upon motion of the City, the Court finds that the safety and protection of the complainant <br />or other family or household member is impaired by the defendant possessing a weapon or firearm, <br />it shall order the defendant to immediately surrender all firearms, handguns, rifles, shotguns, deadly <br />weapons and ammunition which that person then possess to the Division of Police. <br />(b) Notice of such ordered surrender shall be appended to the Complaint charging the named <br />defendant with domestic violence, a violation of Lakewood Codified Ordinance Section 537.14 or <br />Ohio Revised Code Section 2919.25. <br />(c) Any defendant aggrieved by an order of surrender as described in paragraph (a) may petition <br />the Court for a review of such action, and such petition shall be heard no later than ten (10) Court <br />business days after the receipt of the notice of the petition by the court.
